June Dates to Remember
May 28, 2014 - Cookies and Crumbles Orders Due
June 15, 2014 - Father's Day
June 26, 2014 - Last day of School
Please Ensure that your Child has both indoor and outdoor shoes at the centre each day. It is tempting to just bring one pair of shoes, because it is warmer and there is not snow on the ground; but sand and dirt still gets tracked in and onto the floor that they are playing on. The children are required to be wearing shoes or slippers on their feet inside of the daycare center, so that in the case of a fire drill or a spill, or a broken plate their feet are safe.
School is almost out for the summer. Please ensure right up until the very last day of school for the year is over, you are not parking in the school bus lane during school hours. I thank you for your anticipate cooperation.
June is National Dairy month. The point of the month is to remind users of the many uses of dairy products. That makes it the perfect time to enjoy dairy products such as a fruit smoothie, milkshakes, ice cream, and yogurt. Simply eating of these products that month will in some way honor the month, but you can make some plans to do something different to eat or learn about dairy products.
Having an extra ice cream cone is one way to celebrate dairy month. Here is a great and easy recipe for making ice cream together at home. Forget endlessly cranking the handle of an ice-cream maker. After combining the ingredients, each kid can simply shake up his or her own pouch of soft serve -- and it's done in just 5 minutes
What you'll need
1 cup milk or half and half
1/2 cup salt (The bigger the granules, the better. Kosher or rock salt works best, but table salt is fine.)
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pint-size ziplock bag
1 gallon-size ziplock bag
Your favorite mixins such as chocolate chips, cereal pieces, or fresh fruit.

Serves 1
How to make it
Place the salt and ice in the gallon-size bag, then place the sealed smaller bag inside as well. Seal the larger bag. Now shake the bags until the mixture hardens (about 5 minutes). Feel the small bag to determine when it's done.
Take the smaller bag out of the larger one, add mix-ins, and eat the ice cream right out of the bag. Easy cleanup too!
*** Or you can combine the sugar, milk and vanillia in a bowl, mix and place in the freezer until it hardens.***
